MasterCraft to launch superyacht tender at Monaco show

Motorboat & Yachting: US sportsboat manufacturer MasterCraft has announced that it will be launching an inboard diesel superyacht tender at the Monaco Yacht Boat Show.

Wakeboarders and waterskiers will most likely be familiar with the name MasterCraft, but the American brand could soon be making headway in the superyacht world as well.

The sportsboat manufacturer has announced plans to build a bespoke inboard diesel version that can serve as a superyacht tender. The new model will come with a 365hp Yanmar 8LV engine, due to its quiet running and dry weight of just 992lb.

And after 18 months of development, the finished vessel will go on display at the Monaco Yacht Show from September 23-26 (Berth A9).

Michael Hardicker, managing director of MasterCraft Boats UK, said: “Having worked with many superyacht owners, captains and industry professionals over the years we’ve come to recognise the benefits of a dedicated diesel watersports tender.

“This is not only beneficial from a safety perspective but also gives the ability to refuel on board, a significant benefit to superyachts spending long periods of time offshore,” he added.

MasterCraft was founded in Tennessee in 1968 and has had a UK presence since the late 1970s. The firm’s range includes the X20 (pictured above) and the largest model is the 25ft X55.
