RYA London Boat Show stand plans confirmed

Motorboat & Yachting: A series of launches and activities have been confirmed for the 2015 RYA London Boat Show stand.

The RYA has confirmed its plans for the 2015 CWM FX London Boat Show (9-18 January), which will feature several activities and product launches.

As previously announced, the RYA will once again be running its Active Marina workshops with Which Marina? (Stand A010), offering showgoers the chance to brush up on their boating knowledge. As an added incentive to get involved, the first 50 people to book in for a workshop will get a free download of the Navionics iPhone app, worth £24.

Building on this theme, Monday 12 January will be Digital Day on the RYA London Boat Show stand (D016), with a chance to learn about eBooks, eLearning, and using apps to plot a route. Later in the week, on Wednesday 14 January, HRH Princess Anne will be the special guest on the RYA stand, as she unveils the winner of the Yachtmaster of the Year Award.

Other attractions include the powerboat simulator challenge, a knot-tying wall, and an interactive demo on pollution and invasive species from The Green Blue.

Visitors will also be able to pick up the second annual RYA Safety Advisory Notice, which will include advice on six topics, ranging from lifejacket maintenance to personal location devices. RYA experts will be on hand at all times to answer questions about cruising, training, legal affairs and membership.

Members’ perks include £12 entry to the Excel Centre and 20% off all publications bought at the show.

Guy Malpas, London Boat Show manager at the RYA, said: “We have some great activities lined up and a wealth of information to share; from environmental issues and boating knowledge, to digital offerings and safety advice. Make sure you come along to the stand, D016, and find out more.”
